I am in love with the whole nautical theme which is in trend these days. I have been playing with the black and white stripes quite a lot recently. I love how it just brings the whole outfit together making it look trendy and quirky. The other thing that I love is colors. I feel like colors define my life. Let’s talk about how we can style stripes in different ways, adding some color to your outfit.

Outfit #1

Here I have worn a striped t-shirt inside a dress, making the plain black dress a little more fun. Then I added some pop of colors using the bag and the belt. This outfit makes me feel elegant and younger.

Outfit #2

I have worn bright neon pink colored dress, here I added a striped scarf to tone down the brightness of my dress. I love the combination of bright colors with the black and white stripes. It’s my happy combination which makes me feel alive!!

Outfit #3

Here I have worn my stripes with another closet staple – The Denim Jacket. Denim jackets are pretty easy to wear with anything.  It’s a no-brainer and that’s what I love the most about it. It’s great for lazy days where you don’t want to take any efforts but still look good. And I added the pop of color with my bag. This outfit makes me feel like a kid.

P.S. The dress that I am wearing is actually not a dress but a skirt & top which I have worn like a dress. You can have endless combinations using this Dress=skirt + top formula, isn’t that smart?

Spring 2013 Fashion Colors

Spring is here but not quite yet for New York City. Lets talk about what colors are in for Spring. This year the colors that are more prominent are Hot and Warm color shades such as Red, Blue, Jade Green, Purple, Orange and Beige.
